Turok Remastered

Both Turok titles were remastered using our custom KEX engine. There were a few things that I ended up regretting. For one, I got too ambitious with the renderer and ended up wishing that I had kept things simpler. I wanted to figure out how to implement screen-space reflections. It seemed like a really cool idea, and then I found out that it really only looked good on the water scenes. We may end up using this tech on future games.

Turok Remastered


Dinosaurs are back in a big way in 2015, what with the huge success of the Jurassic World film and the surprise indie hit ARK: Survival Evolved. Yet any true dinosaur fans can say that it was the 90s when dinosaurs truly ruled all media. Sure, Jurassic Park in 1993 was okay, but did those dinosaurs have machine guns and time travel? Only Turok: Dinosaur Hunter delivered that action. Luckily enough, Night Dive Studios is almost finished with their remastered Turok.

Today Night Dive Studios announced that their remastered version of the first Turok will be available for purchase starting December 17. It will be available on Steam, and through the Humble Bundle store. This is a remastered version of the PC port for the classic Nintendo 64 game, as the original PC port isn't really of a quality worth spreading around in 2015.

Night Dive Studios also announced that they were doing a remastered update of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, which was just as well-received as the original Turok upon its launch. No release date has yet to be announced for the sequel, however. Considering the turnaround of just a few months from announcement to the Turok remaster's December 17 launch, perhaps the Turok 2 remaster isn't so far away. No mention's been made of the third Turok game getting a remaster, thank goodness. Rest in peace, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. You killed a franchise.

This is still a super fun game. I have the remastered version by Nightdive installed on my Mac and play it often. I will be double dipping to play it on Switch. I would love to see this get a limited physical release. Or even better Turok and Turok 2 in a 2 pack from Super Rare, Limited Run, or one of the other boutique game publishers.

Night Dive Studios, the developer behind the restored editions of System Shock 2 and 7th Guest, announced back in August they were adding both Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil to their lineup of upcoming game remasters for PC. Silent about both titles since the announcement, Night Dive has revealed three new screens from the remastered version of the first game on their Facebook page.

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, a first-person shooter in which you hunt dinosaurs (duh), is being remastered and will soon release on PC via various digital distribution platforms. First released on the Nintendo 64 in 1996, Turok was a weird game, stuck between the old school, Doom-style first-person shooters where you simply run and gun around abstract environments, and more modern, linear shooters that took hold after Half-Life was released in 1998.

The biggest change that fans will experience with the remastered versions of the "Turok" games is their compatibility with the latest hardware's resolution. It is important to note that the graphics remain more or less the same compared to those of the Nintendo 64 and Windows versions, and that the remastered iteration of "Turok 2: Seeds of Evil" will retain the multiplayer mode as well.

Do you remember blasting away dinosaurs in the old Turok games? Well, there's a good chance you'll be able to once more, in the remastered version of the original on Xbox One. As you may remember, Turok Remastered has already landed on PC, but even if there has been some rumours the console versions has yet to surface.

It's fair to say that this overhaul obviously isn't going to result in the most visually stunning game of all time: The remastered release will presumably ramp up the resolution and draw distances, but the underlying visuals, as emphasized by the rendering of Biceps Clayhands in the first screen, appear as though they'll remain essentially unchanged. Such is the way of remasters, as opposed to remakes, a topic Capcom touched on when it clarified that the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake is in fact a remake, and not a remastering

Fans of the original Turok on the Nintendo 64 will be pleased to know that a special remastered version of the hit shooter is coming to to Steam, GOG, and The Humble Bundle, on Thursday, December 17th.

Turok 2 Seeds of Evil Remastered has been developed by Iguana Entertainment in collaboration with Nightdive Studios and is published under the banner of Nightdive Studios. Thus game was initially released on 10th December, 1998 and the remastered version was released in March 2017. You can also download Turok.

Turok 2 Seeds of Evil Remastered has been enhanced for the PC users by using new engine with some improved graphics. This game will transport players into some sprawling environment. This game has got loads of enemies, missions, locations and weapons. This game has got a brand new multiplayer mode. The new mode will allow you to battle with your friends. There is also a Split Screen mode in network multiplayer. A new multiplayer game mode known as Last Turok Standing has also been included. The gameplay of Turok 2 Seeds of Evil Remastered has also been enhanced and AI is also on improving grounds. The locations in this game have been remastered. You may also like to download DOOM.

The game levels are more difficult to finish. 2: The English map titles have been changed for the following; "the lost ruins" (the hub), "the jungle lakes" (the jungle), "the arena temple" (the ancient city), "the forgotten city" (the ruins), "the old catacombs" (the catacombs), "the canyon village" (the treetop village), "the dead land" (the lost land), "the final fortress" (the final confrontation).
