This license is commonly used for video games and it allows users to download and play the game for free. Basically, a product is offered Free to Play (Freemium) and the user can decide if he wants to pay the money (Premium) for additional features, services, virtual or physical goods that expand the functionality of the game. In some cases, ads may be show to the users.

This software is no longer available for the download. This could be due to the program being discontinued, having a security issue or for other reasons.

You may find that Norton blocks the download with a "WS.Reputation.1" message because StellariumScope is not a common program... we astronomers are a relatively small community. The only suggestion I can make is to tempoararily turn off Norton protection, download the file and then use VirusTotal dot com to verify that it is virus free before actually installing StellariumScope... that's a really good practice for any downloaded application. Typically you should find that the scan is clean for all the major anti-virus apps... occasionally a minor player in the anti-virus apps may give a false positive.

Definitely give Stellarium a download if you want to explore the galaxy and learn new things about the solar system. It is an entertaining and intriguing software that will feed your curiosity about the sky above you.

V0.13 is the first release based on Qt5, which brought several technical changes. The most critical is that rendering graphics with Qt5 requires at least OpenGL2.1 support. This normally utilizes a dedicated piece of hardware, the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Any recent (say, post-2011) hardware should provide sufficient functionality, but you may need to update the driver not just with the built-in Update driver search of your operating system, but with drivers downloadable from the graphic card manufacturer's website. (Sometime drivers for notebooks can only be found at the respective notebook manufacturer's support websites, and using the reference drivers from GPU manufacturers may not be completely compatible.)

In doubt, you can verify your GPU's capabilities with tools like "GPU Caps Viewer" (free download). If this shows support for OpenGL 1.4, 1.5 or 2.0 only, and your PC is otherwise still OK, you may consider upgrading your PC at least with a dedicated entry-level graphics card. If this is not possible, read below for MESA support.

Click save file. Note, this should download from Be careful, .exe can be harmful (virus) if you don't know where they are from. Some school computer labs may have downloading disabled. If this is the case, ask the teacher on duty for help before downloading anything.

Google Earth, Google Maps and similar tools have made it possible to explore the world from the comfort of your desk, and Stellarium enables you to do very much the same with the night sky. With a built in catalogue of over 600,000 stars and the option to download catalogues for an additional 210 million stars, the program offers a great way to learn about planets, stars and constellations.

It is possible to add some extra star catalogs to allow seeing more than the default 2.3 million stars (up to 210 millions) by downloading them from the Configuration window within the program.

First time users should take a few minutes to go through the getting started section. Click on the respective screenshot when getting stuck.a) Browsing Observations (screenshot)Visual browsing of archive content through VirGO is mostly based on auto-generated positional queries. To trigger a query1. choose the Target Selection tab2. specify Simbad resolvable name or coordinates and press Go!3. click on the "Download Observations from the SIA/SSA" button at the bottom of the screen (or press CTRL+E)Upon successful completion of the on-line queries against the ESO SIA/SSA services start exploring the result sets.b) Bulk Retrieval (screenshot)Registered archive users may request many files at once through the data basket.1. tick View: all and click Select: All2. right click in observation table to access pop up option Add ESO data...(n/m)3. select Data Basket tab and press Submit request to ESOThis opens the usual ESO request submission web form in the default web browser.Step two is restricted to ESO science frames and two counters in the popup menu indicate the total number of selected items vs. the number of items to which this retrieval method is applicable.c) SAMP Messaging (screenshot)VirGO loads various flavors of FITS images. For data analysis or plotting spectra it can connect to other applications supporting SAMP messaging. Here's the recipe for plotting a reduced VLT/UVES spectrum:1. switch from full screen mode to multi window view using the 2nd button from the right in the toolbar2. launch SPLAT-VO and goto menu item Interop - Start internal SAMP Hub3. right click on a UVES spectrum entry in the observation table and select SAMP - send as application/fits; native to splat-vo4. allow a few seconds to download the data and return to SPLAT-VO5. once the data arrived there is a new entry in Global list of spectra; double click it to plotNote: When a SAMP hub is detected the antenna symbol (top right) changes from greyed out state with an 'x' to the active state.d) Adding Data Source (screenshot)1. Click on the icon "Data Sources" in the VIrGO button bar.2. Click on "Add New Source" and select the type of source: SIA / SSA service, Local File (VOTable or FITS image ) or Static Remote VO Table.3. Specify the base URL of the service, static web address or the path of the file and press SaveSubsequent search operations will include the additional service. This advanced feature requires some basic knowledge on how VO interfaces work. 041b061a72
